The support team

The support team of the MEP consists of a dynamic group of individuals who are ready to perform across all political fronts.

 

1. Brussels Office

She was born in September 1969 in Germany. She has studied Spanish and Italian literature and has pursued a Masters degree in the University of Heidelberg in Germany. She is a Member of the German Green Party in Stuttgart, and since 2006 she is a Board member of the German Green Party in Brussels. She takes part in the working groups on Foreign Policy and Gender Equality of the European Greens. From 2002 to 2006 she worked as a staff consultant and as an assistant in a law firm.

As a Parliamentary Assistant she follows all relevant issues of the Committee on Regional Development.

He was born in January 1978 in Kallithea. He graduated from the Zanneio Model School in Piraeus and he holds the university degrees Bachelor of Science in Shipping and Transport (Plymouth University, England) and Master of Science in Management of Coastal and Marine Resources (University of Portsmouth, England).

From 2001 to 2008 he was a member of an environmental nation-wide NGO and he was responsible for coastal and marine policy by targeting the design and development of trans-European collaborative programs and the implementation of thematic campaigns. He is a member of the Ecologist Greens almost since their foundation and has served as a Member of the Pan-Hellenic Council.

As a Parliamentary Assistant he follows all relevant issues that fall under the Committee on Environment, Food Safety and Public Health.

He was born in August 1979 in Thessaloniki. He graduated from Mandoulides School in Thessaloniki and studied Economics in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He holds 3 Masters degrees: MBA with a concentration on Entrepreneurship και Marketing (American College of Thessaloniki), and Masters of Science on Applied Informatics specialising on Business Informatics (University of Macedonia) as well as on European Studies (CICITABEL-UCL in Βrussels) specialized as a Community Advisor and Project Consultant.

He has worked as a trainee in Canada and in the USA and as a volunteer in several NGOs and programmes (YFU, AIESEC, Erasmus κλπ). He has also worked for a number of companies for many years and runs an advisory firm, offering tax consulting and accounting services, while he also represents the Panhellenic Federation of Tax Consultants (POFEE) in the European Trade Union Confederation (CFE) where he takes part in various committees. In addition, he participated in debates on topics of economic and cultural interest.

As a Parliamentary Assistant he follows all relevant issues that fall under the Committee on Regional Development.

 

 

2. Athens Office

Τasos Krommudas

He was born in 1975 in Athens and he is an electrical engineer, holding a master's degree MSc in Economics and Politics of Energy.

He has worked in the field of renewable energy as a counsel for the RAE on Research Projects related to the impact that European climate policies and mechanisms which support renewables have on the Greek Electricity Sector. In 2007-2009 he coordinated operations for Energy and Climate Change in a Greek NGO.

He was a member of the Pan-Hellenic Council and coordinator of the Executive Secretary of the Greens Ecologists. In the October 2006 local elections he was the the Greens Ecologists candidate Mayor running for Athens.

Since July 2009 he is a scientific associate of MEP M. Tremopoulos in the Athens office responsible for environmental issues.

 

Giannis Paraskevopoulos

He was born in Athens in 1960, where he studied law. Being active in the area of Ecology since the 1980's, he participated in all efforts for its political establishment. Being a founding member of Ecologists Greens, he has been a member of the Executive Secretariat and the Pan-Hellenic Council. He has been particularly involved in programmatic issues and most recently in the green economy. During the 2006 local elections he was the coordinator and project leader of ECO ATHENS in the Municipality of Athens.

Being a senior fellow in most ecological journals, he has written on topics such as city, decentralization, transportation, globalization, nationalism, left-ecology relationships. Being a daily cyclist himself, he is involved in movements for sustainable mobility and rights of pedestrians and cyclists.

 

3. Thessaloniki Office

Εleonora Zotou

She was born in Albania and studied economics at the University of Tirana. In 1990, she returned to Greece with her family. She has been active in the ecological field since 1998. She has also been an active member and later a board member of the Ecological Movement of Thessaloniki. In addition, she is a member of the editorial board of the newspaper "EN OIKO EN DIMO". She is a Member of "Antigone"- Information and Documentation Centre on Racism, Ecology, Peace and Non-violence.

She has been very active in local government, participating in the prefectural movement "Ecology-Solidarity" in Thessaloniki.

She is a member of Ecologist Greens since 2003 and has also been a member of the Pan-Hellenic Council and Executive Committee.

 

Giorgos Mplionis 

George Blionis was born in 1967 in Cologne, Germany by immigrant parents, but grew up in Greece. He studied biology in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, then pursued a Masters Degree in Ecology at Aberdeen, Scotland and a PHD in the Department of Biology in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

He has worked in the Greek Biotope-Wetland Centre in Information and Management Agency Koronia & Volvi in the Department of Veterinary Prefecture of Thessaloniki. He has taught ecology and environmental education in the Department of Biology in the Aristotle University as a temporary teacher. In 2009 he released his book "The Paths of Environmental Education" by Ed. Cedar.

Since the age of 17 years he has been active in the Ecological Movement of Thessaloniki and other environmental organizations later on (Archelon, Hellenic Ornithological Society, Greenpeace, PEEKPE). He is a member of Greens Ecologists since 2007, but participated in the discussions that led to the establishment of the first Eco-Forum and the Green Ecologists later.

 

Οdysseas Hiltidis 

He was born in 1965 in Thessaloniki. He studied Marketing at Thessaloniki's TEI and Teaching in ASPAITE. He has worked as head of advertising and radio producer and also taught in colleges, vocational training institutes, KEK, and all classes of secondary school, teaching Economics, Computers and guidance. In 2005 he was appointed as a permanent teacher in the high school of Goumenissa in Kilkis.

Since 1988, he is a member of the Ecological Movement of Thessaloniki. He was a candidate in all elections involving ecological schemes since 1990 and onwards as a candidate for Departmental, municipal and prefectural elections in Thessaloniki, as well as a parliamentary candidate in Thessaloniki in 2007 and in Kilkis in 2009.

He is a member of Greens Ecologist since 2005 and has been elected to Pan-Hellenic Council since June 2010.
